Steve
Macias, President & CEO
Steve,
along with Jack Cuddihy, bought K&L Manufacturing in May of 2000
and transitioned it into Pivot Manufacturing. Steve has been the
President and CEO since the company’s inception and has been at
the forefront in attracting new customers that has led to a
five-fold increase in sales since 2000. In addition to
expanding their machining capabilities and capacity over the
last several years, Pivot has also broadened their abilities to
include assembly work and, most recently, electronic component
distribution.
In
addition sales and financial duties at Pivot, Steve is also
involved in promoting the small business community and the
manufacturing industry. He currently serves on the Governor’s
Council on Small Business and is the Co-Chair of the Supply
Chain/Buy Arizona Committee which is exploring ways government
can help promote Arizona businesses. Steve also sits on the
board of the Arizona Association of Industries and is Co-Chair
of the Federal Relations Committee. The focus of the committee
is to promote manufacturing at the congressional level in order
to help improve and grow the industry.
Steve
has worked with various congressmen and participated in small
business roundtables in order to find ways to encourage small
business utilization. He has also worked with staff from the
Senate Committee on Small Business and the Minority Business
Development Agency in Washington DC on issues ranging from cost
of healthcare to contract bundling.
A native Arizonan, Steve and his wife
Carrie make their home in Phoenix with their three boys. Steve
earned his Masters in Business Administration from
the WP
Carey School of Business at
Arizona State University and, prior
to Pivot, worked in sales and marketing for Abbott Laboratories
and Pepsi Cola.
