Pivot Manufacturing has grown significantly since 2000 when it had only one customer in the semiconductor industry. Through the leadership of the owners and management team, Pivot now has seven major customers in several industries with a variety of smaller customers we also serve. The three key leaders at Pivot – Steve Macias, Jack Cuddihy, and Dan Way, have a strong focus on customer service and communication and believe in doing whatever it takes to make sure our customers get good parts and assemblies on time at a competitive price.
Pivot Manufacturing is also a two-time graduate of the Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé program, both times expanding their capabilities and capacity through partnerships with General Dynamics C4 Systems. The work with GD helped to establish Pivot as a value-added supplier resource for DoD Companies.
Steve Macias, President & CEO
Steve Macias co-founded Pivot Manufacturing in May of 2000 with Jack Cuddihy and together they have grown the company from a basic machine shop to a company that completes machining, mechanical and electro- mechanical assembly, and manages bills of material for its customers.
Steve handles the sales and finance side of Pivot and is heavily engaged in the business community that promotes the manufacturing industry in Arizona. He is currently the Chair of the Arizona Manufacturing Council and also sits on the board of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. Steve also participates as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Small Business and is active in other industry groups such as the National Defense Industrial Association and the Arizona Tooling and Manufacturing Association.
As part of his involvement with these various groups, Steve works with Arizona federal and state elected officials to increase the visibility of manufacturing in Arizona and to garner support for the industry at both the state and federal level.

Jack Cuddihy, General Manager
Jack Cuddihy co-founded Pivot Manufacturing in May of 2000.
He has responsibility for the manufacturing side of the business and he has helped to bring into Pivot programs such as LEAN Manufacturing and ISO certification. Jack’s manufacturing background includes working at Hughes Satellite Systems, helping to run a shoe factory for VANS Shoes, and being an engineering liaison between maquiladoras in Mexico and U.S. manufacturers.
Jack is also involved in local community support organizations. He has worked closely for many years with Arizona Quest for Kids supporting young men and women who have the necessary tools but may need some guidance to make it to college. Jack is also active with the Phoenix Art Museum and volunteers there on a regular basis.

Dan Way, Operations Manager
With 17 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and program management, Dan has brought structured process methodologies to Pivot’s operations. As Operations Manager at Pivot, Dan has increased production efficiencies by over 50%. He has implemented efficient shop floor control and quality control programs to achieve this goal.
Dan’s experience, as a supplier quality engineer for Motorola, gives him the insight into what customers look for in a top quality vendor. This knowledge has allowed him to customize Pivot’s processes and exceed their customer’s expectations. His engineering and manufacturing background have provided him the skills necessary to meet the increasing technical challenges within the machining industry. Dan’s unique experience as design and manufacturing engineer, allows him to provide cost saving suggestions on new parts without compromising product performance.
Dan is a native Arizonan who graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He later attained a Master’s Degree in Technology Management. Dan worked for a number of different groups at Motorola for over 15 years and held technical and management positions in design engineering, manufacturing, and program management. Dan’s interests include tennis, golf, and car restoration.
